In first part of the paper we discuss major features of the ubiquitous computing environment. We also discuss some of the major challenges that makes implementing ubiquitous computing environment difficult. In the second part of the paper, we discuss QTOPIA Operating System for hand held devices and discuss different components of the operating system with the view point of features of ubiquitous computing environment. We mark out the components which implement some of the features of the ubiquitous computing environment. We also discuss to what extent are these features implemented and also how exactly are these implemented and in what way are they used. Then we also talk about the features which are not present in QTOPIA.
